By using Secret Ski Map you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.

What the service is

Secret Ski Map is a free, independent map and directory of Japanese ski resorts. It is informational only. The data is compiled from public sources and our own research, and it may be incomplete, out of date, or approximate. An empty field means unknown, not zero.

We are not a booking agency and we do not sell trips, lift passes, or accommodation. Nothing here is travel, weather, or safety advice. Skiing and onsen bathing carry real, sometimes fatal, risk. Closed-gate and avalanche rules exist for a reason — obey resort signage and local regulations, and take responsibility for your own safety and decisions on the mountain.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 to join the mailing list or create a free account.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the site — no bulk scraping, no attempts to overload or break it, no illegal use. For legitimate programmatic access we publish a public API at /api/v1/resorts and an llms.txt file. Use those rather than scraping pages.

Affiliate relationships

Some outbound links to accommodation and activity partners are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we show or recommend. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.

Intellectual property

Our compilation, structure, and presentation of the data are ours. Resort names, logos, and trade marks belong to their respective owners, and appear here for identification only — we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of anything on it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its data, including any injury on the mountain or any dealing with a third-party partner. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted, with the date above updated.
